Florical Systems, for 35 years the leader in television automation with products deployed at some of the biggest names in TV and cable, has an opening for a Technical Services Engineer to work remotely.

This is a Customer Support/Field Service position to install, train, and maintain the television automation products developed and sold by Florical Systems.

Available for customer service 24hr/day on-call as needed.

This position may require various degrees of travel up to 75%.

Requires both IT and broadcast television skills and knowledge (video servers, routers, switchers, etc.)

  • Installs, configures, and tests hardware, software and peripheral system components through on-site and telephone support.
  • Directly modifies system’s high level configuration files (*.ini files), configures multiple types of software packages as needed to correct design flaws.
  • These systems are highly interactive and fluid requiring good judgment and in-depth knowledge of peripheral systems.
  • Replaces, repairs, or updates defective or outdated software and/or hardware.
  • Observes system to verify correct operations and detection of errors.
  • Determines if operation falls within acceptable parameters for customer’s application, and independently determines and implements necessary changes to the system.
  • Manages tools and facilitates text formatting and file conversion and transfer.
  • Effectively articulates technical issues, timely updates and feedback on hardware or software issues to management so they can be passed to appropriate staffing for research, resolution, and updating of documentation procedures.
  • Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems both verbally and in writing (customer support).
  • Evaluates customer’s training requirements and manages, coordinates, and conducts training in use of software, equipment, and manuals and assists in development of user and training documents.
  • Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
